Designing a studio for an artist is always a challenge. The proposal must provide space for inspiration, be flexible and practical all the whilst not creating an aesthetic imposition. Allowing sun light to enter in different ways, celebrating some of the listed history of the site and covering the proposal internally and externally in natural elements provides the artist Emma with endless possibilities and an immediate sensitivity to both the natural and artificial worlds.
