In considering the refurbishment of this beautiful house to convert it into flats we proposed an extension to the ground floor for additional volume. Placed as a subtle glass box at the end of the building it requires an internal courtyard for the central bedroom to have natural light. The layers of glazing and horizontal panes create a series of layers filtering through the extension to the bedrooms beyond.
